To advertise my office hours, I put my Zoom link on the announcements in My Courses for both of my classes. So I’m inviting students from both of my classes individually of their own accord to visit me during my office hours. If I’m with someone, I see them in the Waiting Room. Does this make sense?
Andrea MacArgel
35:34
That’s perfect Jonathan
Jonathan Karp
36:00
Okay, thanks.
Andrea MacArgel
36:07
We definitely recommend that you use waiting room for office hours in the personal meeting room.

is it fair to not allow backtracking on a test
Dina M Layish, Prof. SOM
44:09
I just learned that McGraw-Hill offers a virtual proctoring service. It's called Tegrity
Andrea MacArgel
44:25
RE: Exam soft, email the helpdesk@binhamton.edu and make the request
Andrea MacArgel
45:17
RE Backtracking - this is an option that you have.
Andrea MacArgel
46:12
RE McGraw-Hill - I din’t know that. We will looking it.
Andrea MacArgel
47:42
Just to clarify, you MUST set your zoom meetings to your normal class times if you are going to have live classes
Antonio Frontera
53:19
do students know they are being tracked and should we mention it to them?
Andrea MacArgel
53:42
If you turn on the tracking, I would let them know.
Antonio Frontera
54:02
Thnaks
Jonathan Karp
55:19
Where is Panopto to be found in My Courses?
Megan A Larson
55:27
How accurate is the tracking? For example, I’m watching the presentation, but I have a word document open that I am actively taking notes on. Would that count me as active?
Andrea MacArgel
55:41
Panopto is under Tools
Jonathan Karp
55:45
Thanks
Andrea MacArgel
56:22
if the word document is blocking your zoom window, it is not going to count you are “attentive” in zoom
Andrea MacArgel
56:39
if is is next to it, then you are “attentive"
Megan A Larson
56:59
Thanks!

58:24
Do we need a separate microphone to play an imbedded video or should it go directly into the zoom when we play it in our ppt presentation?
Andrea MacArgel
59:42
When you share the screen you need to select Share computer sound
buesl
59:52
Thanks
Jonathan Karp
59:57
I wanted to connect my iPad or iPhone to my computer and use it as an additional screen sharing option with Zoom, but I find Zoom screen sharing does not recognize either of these devices. Any suggestions for how to make this work?
Andrea MacArgel
01:00:14
You can join the meeting twice
Andrea MacArgel
01:00:39
once once form the computer and and once form the iPad
Jonathan Karp
01:00:51
Ah, interesting!
Andrea MacArgel
01:00:57
or just join only from the iPad only
Andrea MacArgel
01:01:10
I prefer both
Jonathan Karp
01:01:21
I’ll give it a try. Thanks!
Andrea MacArgel
01:01:31
you have to have a newer iPad for it to recognize it via the share
Andrea MacArgel
01:01:50
but joining twice works great
buesl
01:02:38
Can you give the link here in chat for the last two resources lists?

I heard Spectrum is providing some free or improved internet connection, Please phone them and find out more
Andrew Walkling
01:12:44
Unfortunately, this is precisely that. Spectrum says I have great service at my router, but my BU-issued computers aren’t connecting well.

Dina M Layish, Prof. SOM
01:17:31
I actually went to the Zoom website to get the list of attendees
Dina M Layish, Prof. SOM
01:17:46
I set up the class through MyCourses, but found the attendance list on the Zoom website
Andrew Walkling
01:19:00
So that only works if you use Zoom through myCourses?
sarah otieno
01:19:05
Yes. Thank you
